How I'm different and why what I do will work for you where other things haven't before.

I don't do therapy. I don't do NLP or hypnosis. Get out of your head and back into your body. Discover the confidence of being able to rely on your innate body wisdom. I offer proven techniques from the proprietary MythoSelf process, EPC2 Exquisite Performance Coaching and Consulting, Soma-Semantics technology and more than 10 years of training and working with some of the leading developers in the field of NLP and the therapeutic geniuses of hypnosis. "Michael Roach is one of the few individuals who has studied the MythoSelf Process work with me who brings as much to the work as he takes from it. In the years that he's studied with me I've seen Michael develop an extraordinary competence and mastery of applying this work with others, fully integrating the learning he brings to it elegantly. In your decision to work with someone to facilitate your own personal evolution I recommend personally and without hesitation that you attend one of Michael's programs or work with him personally as your facilitator and advisor."

What I do

Many people do all the right things to be successful, read the right books, attend the right training's and learn all the right skills, but what stops them from getting what they want is themselves.

I teach you how to go where your problems are not to find out what it is that you want and get that, this is how you can really be successful.

Real success is not having loads of money though many people seem to have made the erroneous assumption that money = success = happiness. I've had clients who have enough money so they don't have to work, and just work doing the jobs that they want to do and yet they come to see me because they know they have something missing in their lives.

What's missing is a life of meaning and purpose. A life worth living. You get this when you learn how to follow a path with heart. Start here and the money will follow.

Don Juan, Carlos Castaneda's teacher described this as:

"Anything is one of a million paths. Therefore you must always keep in mind that a path is only a path; if you feel you should not follow it, you must not stay with it under any conditions. To have such clarity you must lead a disciplined life. Only then will you know that any path is only a path, and there is not affront, to oneself or to others, in dropping it if that is what your heart tells you to do. But your decision to keep on the path or to leave it must be free of fear or ambition.

I warn you. Look at every path closely and deliberately. Try it as many times as you think necessary. Then ask yourself, and yourself alone, one question. This question is one that only a very old person asks. My benefactor told me about it once when I was young, and my blood was too vigorous for me to understand it. Now I do understand it.

I will tell you what it is: Does this path have a heart?

All paths are the same, they lead nowhere. They are paths going through the bush, or into the bush. In my own life I could say I have traversed long, long paths, but I am not anywhere. My benefactor's question has meaning now. "Does this path have a heart?" One makes you strong; the other weakens you.

The trouble is nobody asks the question: and when a person finally realizes that they have taken a path without heart, the path is ready to kill them. At that point very few people stop to deliberate and leave the path.

A path without a heart is never enjoyable. You have to work hard even to take it. On the other hand, a path with heart is easy; it does not make you work at liking it.

For my part there is only the traveling on paths that have heart, on any path that may have heart. There I travel, and the only worthwhile challenge is to traverse its full length.

And there I travel looking, looking, breathlessly."

My story

Elaine Aron coined the phrase "Highly Sensitive Person" or "HSP" for those people who have the trait of super neuro-sensory sensitivity genetically wired in. Just like being introverted or extroverted, this trait shows up immediately in a person's behaviour and I would fit the bill of this type to a "T." In fact for as long as I can remember I have been "wired in." It's not about being psychic, just really tuned into what's going on around you.

Imagine the Silverback in a Mountain Gorilla group, munching along with the rest of the group, smoothing over some trouble between some noisy adolescents, chasing and getting the "ripe" females ... all the normal gorilla stuff. Then something hardly worth noticing catches his attention and he's immediately ready for action, immediately ready to do whatever it takes to protect his group and take the leadership role that's he's always up for ...

Now you have some idea of what it's like to be a Highly Sensitive Person. Not that I like labels, but I've got to admit it seems Elaine Aron is onto something here, while I don't necessarily like the label, the descriptions of HSP do fit and I wear it well.

In addition to having this kind of "super-attuned" neuro-sensory system, I'm also highly trained in some of the most cutting edge communication technologies around.

So I started out by being highly intuitive ... extremely "tuned" in to things around me. Now on top of that I've added years of training and experience in some amazing human performance technologies some might even call "esoteric." While this may sound "cool" ... and in some ways it most definitely is ... it can also make life much more challenging.

Let me give you an example or two from both sides:

  • Give me a pack of Tarot cards and I'll give you a scarily accurate reading... You want tricks? This is better than handwriting analysis or cheap magic tricks any day for intriguing women.
  • On the other hand I found many people I've met insensitive and boring comparatively to the way I seem to experience the world, and I wasn't particularly interested or comfortable making connections with these people.

What I found over time is that it became easier and easier for me not to, to simply either choose to remain alone or sort only for those people with whom there seemed to be a more natural match and fit. So you see there are two sides to this coin I've been handed ... It was easier to connect with others who were a bit different.

Most people are content to settle for what comes along, because that is all they know and that is what everyone else they know is doing. And there is nothing wrong with that, if you are content. It is not unless something happens to you that knocks you out of your everyday reality that it even occurs to you that things not just could be, but are different.

Usually this ‘knock' is something fairly traumatic. I happened to be noticing these things naturally, and it became a fascination I nurtured. So the relationships I had were with women who needed help in some way. I was good at fixing problems simply because I had the awareness to notice the patterns that people were running.

Eventually I'd studied enough healing technologies where I could make a real difference. What I also learnt along the way was that I didn't want my personal life to also be my work life. So I came to quite enjoy being alone, it was easier than being with people I didn't like or just wanted ‘therapy' from me. Of course this gave me plenty of time to study why both people and relationships didn't work. Until I learnt to ask a better question, "Why do relationships work, which ones are working and maybe most importantly ... how people can get what they want."

I'm a Shaman from the Huna Mua lineage, this is a Hawaiian form of Shamanism. Huna is described as the pre-eminent system of natural magic existing in the world today. I've had a long standing interest in Buddhist teachings, and particularly admire the Dalai Lama and Thich Nhat Hahn, and have found the idea of the Bodhisattva vow appealing.

As well as being trained in traditional forms of natural wisdom I'm qualified as an Ericksonian Hypnotherapist specialising in Self Relations Psychotherapy, and as a Polarity Therapist, and a Reiki Master. I'm a NLP Master Practitioner and Trainer. I'm also trained in Pranic Healing, and Mantak Chia's Healing Tao.

Let's continue for just a bit more ... I've trained with most of the international quality level of NLP trainers, the people with real skill at personal change technologies, people like: Richard Bandler, John Grinder, John La Vale, Jonathan Altfeld, Rex Steven Sikes, Paul McKenna, Michael Breen, Eric Robbie, Ross Jeffries, Tom Vizzini & Kim McFarland, Michael Hall, and John La Tourette. I've also trained with many international therapeutic wizards, people like: Stephen Gilligan, Bill O'Hanlon, Ernest Rossi, Charlie Badenhop, David Grove, James Lawley and Penny Tompkins.

Since 2000 I've been a personal apprentice of Dr Joseph Riggio the Architect and Designer of the MythoSelf Process, and I'm one of only a handful of people in the world licensed to use the proprietary psycho-spiritual technology of the MythoSelf® Process, EPC2 - Exquisite Performance Coaching and Consulting, and the Soma-Semantics model. This is the elite personal evolution technology that Joseph's clients pay him $4000 for half a day of his time!!

I'm also very influenced or integrally informed by Ken Wilber's work. And from this describe what I do as transformation rather than translation.
